Job Summary
As a respite provider, you will be visiting the home of the client to provide the services. Respite is to
be considered a time of relief for the caregiver from the demands of caring for their child. Respite
providers will be at the home to assist the client with daily living activities as well as participate in
activities The most important responsibility of a Respite Provider is to allow the caregiver to be able
to step away for a few hours if you will be in the home or out in the community with the child.

Best Home Care inc, is a Home Care agency that provides Respite services to children with
developmental disabilities between the ages of 5 and 21, who are seeking services after school and
after work hours. We are seeking highly motivated, professional, respite technicians for part-time
and per-diem positions. This position is for our Agency Hired Respite (AHR). Being respite is
considered a time of break or relief to the caregiver, it will be expected that at some point in your
day, you will be left alone with the child
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care for children and families with a wide array of disabilities
- Provide necessary resources and support system development. As well as assist youth with activities of daily living
- Prepares and maintains records of client progress and services performed, reporting changes in client condition to manager or supervisor.
- Assists you with steps required to take care of their physical needs, and participate in the maintenance of a clean-living environment
- Actively promotes client’s mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest
- Gives simple emotional and psychological support to the client and other members of the household
- Instructs or advises clients on issues such as household cleanliness, utilities, hygiene, nutrition, or infant care.
- Completes all required training successfully and regularly attends mandatory respite meetings and supervision meetings to provide input regarding the program.
- Attends in-service training as required by regulation
- Participates in case of reviews, consulting with the team caring for the client, to evaluate the client’s needs and plan for continuing services
